"That's a very smart question to ask," he smiles. It's good that the child is not overly trusting. It takes him a moment to remember the date Roi told him, though. "It's March, isn't it? March 20th?"

"You're the only cat I know," he adds. "The only one who can change forms, that is. Magic is everywhere. I'm sure you have some. This place uses a kind of magic to bring people here and keep them. They're allowed to return home when it's done with them. Sometimes bad things happen, but sometimes good things happen, too. Like making friends."
