For once, the hotel hadn't seen fit to load his room with aphrodisiacs - something that Roi was grateful for. As it was, he was relaxing on his bed with the door wide open to allow anyone in. He really didn't mind; he enjoyed company when he got it. Most of his experience in this place was positive, and the last thing he wanted was to shut his friends out.

"Mmn..."

Stretching out while on his belly, Roi purred to himself and contemplated cooking dinner. There was fish in the fridge....

Perhaps he should get up?

Tail flicking idly from side to side, Roi contemplated the option with all the seriousness of the mysteries of the world.

In the end, he rolled over onto his belly so he was half on and half off the bed, with one arm and one leg hanging off the side.

"Mmnn."

And of course, the tail is back to pressing against Balthazar's leg. He gently messes with the fish on the pan, but otherwise leaves it alone.

"I can eat bread and any vegetable, as far as I know. I have not stocked most of the things that I absolutely can't eat, but you're welcome to add anything you like. What is the Spanish saying...? Mi casa es su casa?" He really doesn't know much of the language, but he's heard the phrase enough times to memorize it.

{I've mostly misplaced all of my usual drawing supplies. I dabble with inking pens, calligraphy pens, markers, colored pencils, and water color. :> On the computer, I've been dabbling with different line colors to see which ones I prefer the most. And dude, I haven't seen a figure like that before. : o I'm not really familiar with any of the Resident Evil series outside of 4.}}

"You know, I've heard that saying, but I don't think I've ever heard it used by a native Spanish speaker."

He moves slowly to enjoy the light touch, wandering around setting the table, getting out bread and butter, then digging through the freezer and crisper drawer until he comes up with green beans and raw carrots. The former can be steamed, the latter sliced and served raw.

((My gf does more drawing than me, but we tend to collect art supplies. Art markers, colored pencils, etc.

I actually don't even play video games, I just thought it was a badass monster. XD For a while he was hanging out with our other action figures, grappling with Doc Ock. We're a strange household.))

When Balthazar wanders away, Roi draws his focus back to the stove. Hearing the rummaging, he stepped slightly over to better reveal the cabinets for the pots and pans.

"I don't think I have either. I just like the saying."

{:> I'll have to google it then. XD And er, no? It's not that strange. Currently, my Cloud figure is hanging out with my brother's Ho-oh and Haruhi Suzumiya figures. :B I have several other figures but currently nowhere to put them. Well, my Sephiroth figure is on a dresser away from the Cloud, but... Heh. My father, brothers and myself are all gamers. It's not uncommon for us to want to mess around with the systems at roughly the same time.}}

Discovering the pots and pans, he gets one out and sets it on the stove, pouring frozen green beans into the bottom. "I think I do, too, as it applies to having a safe haven to go to for dinner and conversation."

This time the smile is almost shy.

((I like the plots and settings of a lot of games, I just have no skill at playing them.))

Roi glances over to see what's being added, and notices his almost shy smile. "I hope one day you would think that of time with me, here." He blushes a little, feeling a little self-conscious over the admission.

He just looks at him a moment, savoring the feeling of being wanted and being comfortable with the person doing the wanting. It's all come about pretty quickly; he doesn't want to rush things, but it feels good.

After a moment, he turns on the stove, then steps closer and hugs him gently.

((Oh, really? Now I'll have to look that up. Because I so dearly need more things to take up my time. XD ))

"Ah?" He really wasn't expecting that, and he looks up at Balthazar with a bit of confusion, his features lightly flushed.

"...Balthazar?" Clueless cat boy is clueless.

{*glances at the icon, then looks at the keywords* Aww, Balthazar, why so wibbly? XD And, heh. XD Another game that I'd personally recommend is Bahamut Lagoon (I actually play a main character from it here.) - you get to mess with dragons! 8D It's a strategy game (like the Fire Emblem series, only without the whole "0 hp equals total death") that is easy to play. ...Also, is it bad that I'm thinking of posting with Roi... only, genderswapping him? *facepalm*}}

He squeezes him gently with a soft, shaky sigh, then lets go sheepishly. "Sorry. I'm okay. I just...I've been alone for a very long time. More than a dozen human lifespans. For a while I convinced myself it suited me, but...I guess I'm not."

He shakes his head and waves dismissively. "It's not important right now. I don't want to be depressing. I'm just grateful to have a friend." That sounded sappy. He's going to stir the green beans now, with inordinate care and interest.


((This is his other wibble icon. He's a great big bucket of angst, really. He just has an easier time being warm and fuzzy with other people who are warm and fuzzy and/or upbeat.

He'd make a pretty lady. ;) I've never done that to a character. Not my kink, I guess? *shrug* But I think if you want to, you should try it.))

Hey, he can roll with sappy. Balthazar's age surprises him, but, ultimately, it changes nothing. When he's let go of, he sets his tongs aside and wraps his arms around Balthazar's waist, pressing his cheek against his side.

"Long age or not, you're still a person. A person with needs just like everyone else." He then puts on a bright smile.

"I'm very happy to be your friend. I've been forcibly cut off from all of mine for the past two years, so I've been feeling more like me again since meeting you."

It's a bit embarrassing for him to admit. But perhaps if he's embarrassed enough it'll make Balthazar relax a little more.

{XD I've only seen the movie about... once? Twice? But not with my full attention. ^^; I'm just fond of messing with my characters. I don't throw out genderswap too much. But whatever Roi posts I throw out there, you're more than welcome to tag. :)}}

He smiles gently. There are a host of reasons why he hasn't been doing well alone lately, and age is just one of them. But like he said, he doesn't want to be depressing. "I don't have any friends left, back home. None I can reach, anyway. Some people here have been...kind. But like I said the last time we met...it's easy enough to meet someone here and then never see them again. I've lost too much."

His gaze lingers on Roi's eyes, sober and distant, but when he reaches to brush his cheek, it warms up again, and the smile widens. "You're blushing. I'm glad you're comfortable with me. Maybe we're good for each other."

((I write fanfic for it, so I can pick it down to the last nit. It's a bit sad.

Roi presses against the touch to his cheek with a soft, little purr. "Maybe. Mhh, and maybe I should wear a bell so you'd know if I was nearby." He laughs softly, mostly joking. Wearing a bell all the time would annoy him pretty fast.

"You look happier than you did right before we met."

{Uploaded an icon for it (using it 'cause I can). XD And that's perfectly fine. :3 I used to write fanfiction in my younger years. Now, if I write it, it's just using the characters that I've been playing with and against the most. XD;}}

"I don't need a bell. I'd feel you. You're warm." He means it in a more than physical sense, and brushes a light touch over his hair. "Well, I was grouchy when we met. I don't like dress up much."

He smiles faintly, "I'm happy right now. I can't promise that'll always be the case. I have a lot of baggage. But I won't unload it on you."

((I like to explore less popular characters in my fandoms. I am sort of interested in writing professionally, too, but that's a ways off, and a hard field to break into.))

"Dressing up is overrated." Roi smiles back and presses his head against his hand. If he needs to, he'll stand on tiptoe.

"As for your baggage, well, my ears listen very well. Besides, you've already heard a good portion of mine." More blushing. "A-and, well, my door's always open. Okay?"

{I hear you about less popular characters. In truth, I'm the only person so far on tlh that plays Fou-Lu from Breath of Fire 4. I've seen many a Ryu post, and Ninas, and I've seen a Katt, but no Fou-Lu. He's actually about half Balthazar's age, and in the main game, he witnesses the death of someone he started to fall in love with (or rather, his love interest is tortured beyond recognition, loaded into a town-sized cannon, and fired at him. And it hits him for massive damage.) He then proceeds to lose his shit (understandably) and become the villain of the game. I play him right before he meets said love interest, because I wanted to explore his more sane side.}}

"Especially around here." The day the hotel tries to get him into decorative underwear is the day he starts slinging plasma bolts through the windows.

"Mm. Maybe after dinner. It really is a long story. But I like your ears." He's tempted to pet them, but he's already learned what kind of reaction that gets, and they really should eat.

((See, I know so few of the anime and game characters around here. But that's part of why I like panfandom games. I can play characters I know and am comfortable with and still get exposed to new fandoms. Win-win.))

"Understood. There was a time where it made me wearing something like spandex - white, see-through spandex. It was rather uncomfortable and hid, well, absolutely nothing at all."

He sulked for just a moment, then started nudging the fish in the pan around, impatiently. Cook faster, fiiiish. D:
